Hell Discussion

This is a recording of our discussion on Hell led by Pastor Ken. We envisioned this opportunity to learn more about hell, and also to be safe a place to share any questions and doubts with each other. Check out this video as we explore various biblical texts that deal with hell and how Christians past and present have understood them.

August 2020 Town Hall

As a church, we strive to foster a community that serves those around us in creative ways. Over our past couple retreats, we've been challenged to dream about what that might look like for us. And now with everything that has been going on in our country, it seems like it is time we begin discerning together what new thing God might be calling us to. Join us as we kick off this discussion!

2020 LGBTQ Forum Discussion

It’s been more than 2 years since the last time we talked about the question of LGBTQ inclusion in the church. This summer we will be picking the discussion back up. To help facilitate that discussion, here’s a recording of our kick-off forum:

  1. Intro

  2. 3 different stances churches take on the topic (this will be a bit of a review from our last forum 2 years ago)

  3. Brief look at biblical passages that speak against same sex acts (also a bit of a review from last time)

  4. Main part of our time will be spent talking about patriarchy and what might be the biblical support towards a trajectory for affirming gay Christians in the church: the two important concepts here are "patriarchy" and "trajectory."

  5. Discussion — questions/comments

2020 Follow-up Discussion on Race

With everything going on in our nation, and as a follow-up to our 2020 retreat, we thought it would be helpful to bring Jon (Dr. Tran) back for an additional discussion on race.

Here’s a helpful piece that Jon wrote shortly before this discussion: The Ends of Anti-Racist Protest.
